In a world, where the automobile is king, and millions of Americans drive millions of miles every year, sometimes things go bad. Sometimes cars get damaged, abandoned, or forgotten. That's where we come in, to explore the world of abandoned cars being sold at auction, and search for the holy grail; a running car that has keys and might be bought at a huge discount!

This is the world that has created flea markets, "antique" stores, Craigslist, and eBay. Specifically for cars, there are auctions held by local, state, and federal governments, wrecked car auctions like Copart, and "used" car part lots like Pick-n-Pull or Pull-A-Part all across the country. With the use of the internet, there are auto auctions and cars for sale everywhere. As the worldwide auto industry continues to crank out and sell a projected 16 million new cars in America this year, a few of the old-timers fall through the cracks, and sometimes are rescued and brought back to life.

Coming up on June 15th, some of these autos will be sold at auction, and we plan to be there, to see what's what, see what the mileage may be, and find out if any are salvageable or if they truly are just abandoned piles of rust that at best will be recycled at a scrap yard. We'll follow up in a few weeks and inspect these possible treasures to see what is what. For now, you can play along at home and estimate what the car would be worth in good condition, but then tune in later to see what  condition they really are in. We'll attend the auction and see if any real bargains exist.
