Not talking about detailing your car here. Not talking about in the military doing details. Just the many, many details, parts, and interesting little things you see on automobiles. In other words, a quick look at some other "stuff" spotted at a recent cars and coffee. For some reason, I'm interested in license plates that have a message or personalized meaning. Some can be hard to figure out, some are very easy, and I like this one because it also includes a safety message for drivers: USE YOUR SIGNAL!

Happy Holiday! |

The Lemons Car Will Return in 2021 |
Speaking of the pandemic, the 24 Hours of Lemons folks have cancelled the December race in Atlanta, so we've noted that on our Schedule page of this blog. On a positive note, it sounds like the virus people are working over time to get us all COVID free in 2021, so we're all looking forward to that day!

Cars+Coffee November
On a Sunday morning in the Covid era, and with no Formula 1 race for another week, and certainly no other driving events to keep me out of trouble, it was time to visit the local Cars and Coffee in Manhasset NY outside of Macy's before they open. Car wise? Excellent! Coffee wise? Good enough with my regular brew at home, but since I was there from about 9AM-10AM, the Starbucks inside Macy's wasn't open yet. Oh well, it was just chilly enough that an hour was plenty for me. Here we go!
How about a brand new mid-engine 2021 Corvette in whatever color this is called?
The Corvette was not the most expensive car I saw, not by a long shot. That title probably goes to this Porsche GT2RS. From what I could Google about it, the retail on this bad boy started at about $293,000. They only made 1,000 of them. Well, not counting the three customer cars that sank in the ocean on their way over, but then the factory tooled up to make those 3 for their waiting customers. Oh, it has 700hp and goes 211mph.
If $300,000 and change is a bit too rich, here's some more common Porsche GT3s that will run you maybe $150,000. Three white ones with 2 different versions of the NY state license plate. Since this is SO MUCH CHEAPER than the GT2RS, if I'm correct that it's the 2017-2019 version, these have "only" 493hp and will "only" go as fast as 198mph.
OK, enough with the new, fancy, expensive, fast cars. How about some old cars? Glad you asked! Keeping it red for now, here's a couple of Mercedes cars, a red 250SL and a later maroon 560SL. I'm not a Mercedes expert, but I'm going to say these are older than what we've seen so far. The set up on the wipers of the red car was unusual, and you've got to love the red wheel covers too.
Let's close this out in the USA with another red car, a Chevy Chevelle SS 454! This thing looked awesome, lots of attention paid to the engine bay.
