Porsche 75th Anniversary

Porsche Gold Coast, Long Island, NY

Porsche is celebrating 75 years of producing cars, so local dealers across the country and probably the world hosted events on June 10th. I attended at Porsche Gold Coast on Long Island and had fun hanging out, looking at cars, talking to my friend Mitch, and eating some free food! “Free” remains my favorite flavor! Here’s some cars:

The 356 came before the 911

Inside the showroom...hey look, the 24 Hours of Le Mans is about to start too!

Here's a color you don't see every day!

I strongly recommend you look up Porsche 918 Spyder to understand how much awesomeness this car has!

More showroom goodness

Porsche owners are so helpful, like, if you were wondering what shade of blue this might be!

A classic hounds-tooth interior

Outdoors gathering of P-cars

If the license plate says "FUNSTUF" it must be true! The Porsche 911 comes in about 22 different models, so this one is a 911, Targa, 4, GTS

Orange, sure, we got orange!

Usually I just say something corny like "SPOILER ALERT" but this is a special Cayman GT4RS, which was new last year, and it's the first time they've finally put the big 911 GT3 motor into the mid-engine Cayman. One of these would make the PERFECT Father's Day gift!

"Race Car" backwards is still "Race Car"

I don't know all the details on these race cars, but this one is a GT4 Clubsport MR, with "MR" meaning it has been modified by Manthey Racing, a specialized tuner company near the Nurburgring in Germany.

Colors? Yes, Porsche does colors.

Luftgekuhlt, German for Air Cooled, like older Porsche engines.

Special thanks to Porsche, FREE FOOD TRUCK FOOD! They do this EVERY 75 YEARS, so check it out again in 2098.

More colors

Meanwhile, back in the showroom to catch some more 24 Hours racing and look at more new cars
