NMS South Evaluating New Tire Strategy

For the 2016 autocross season, the Bridgestone Potenza RE-71R is by far and away the most popular tire to have across the country. Currently NMS South and North are both running this tire option and having a good deal of success with the tremendous grip they offer. Scattered reports are coming in of the Kumho Ecsta V720 tires sticky potential and we even observed them take a class win at the Dixie tour.
Fresh batch of new rubber arrives at our Columbia facility for evaluation.

While most years we would be content to jump on the bandwagon like everyone else and go by the recommendation of others on what the best tire to have is, this year we will evaluate the options on our own car and look for possible advantages that may have been overlooked. We've managed to arrange to borrow some wheels for a few months so we can reduce our costs and be able to run both tires at a single event to really evaluate them back to back.

Overall the Kumhos are $75 cheaper per set, pay out a larger contingency prize for finishing in the top three for a national autocross event, and are rumored to hold up to abuse much better than the Bridgestone offering.  Check back in a few weeks for our findings!
