Newport Car Museum

This is a real Shelby Cobra, specifically a 1967 Ford Shelby Cobra 427 SC Cobra.

On the same trip that we visited the Audrain Auto Museum, we also squeezed in another car museum in Newport, titled the Newport Car Museum.  Even though I was over-dosed with looking at such unbelievable high performance and rare cars, the Newport Car Museum was also awesome. The cars in this museum are from one person's collection, and it was fabulous. The cars were grouped by international, then Carol Shelby related, a Corvette room, and a classic US model section. Let's start with the Carol Shelby cars!

The Newport Car Museum can be found at: NEWPORT CAR MUSEUM

With 290HP from a 7 liter V8, only 31 of these were built.

The top speed of 191MPH still makes it an incredible performer 55 years later.

1971 DeTomaso Pantera. The Panther was available at your Ford Lincoln Mercury dealer, and came with a Ford 351 V8 packed in the middle of the DeTomaso body in Italy. Alejandro DeTomaso hailed from Argentina, so there's a lot of United Nations to like about this car!

This is a recreation of a 1965 Ford GT40, built for the Furious Five movie of 2011. After filming the car was on display at Universal Studios too!
